Today is significant because…

in two months I’ll be celebrating the annual culmination of what started on June 23, 19(not telling) … my birthday! 30 some odd years ago, I was brought into this world by a loving family who did their very best to raise me with an upbringing designed to create a son they’d be proud of.  I think they did alright.  I mean, I’m healthy, intelligent, successful, trustworthy, strong-willed, good-looking, compassionate, witty, and not the least bit egotistical.

I’ve started to not like my birthday.  It happened somewhere after 26, as it does for most of us.  Of course, some people will tell you, “age is just a number” or “it happens to all of us”, which are both true statements.  However, they’re cold comfort when you have to realize another 365 days of your precious time on Earth has come and gone.  You’re one birthday closer to your last…. you’ll never get that time back and… Ok, ok… so it’s not really that bad. I’m just trying to get you to feel sorry for me so you’ll buy a bigger present. Really big. Think shopping pallet, not cart.

Oh and I almost forgot, yesterday was Earth Day. To conserve water, I didn’t shower!
